How we hold or carry our child's hand

Hi folks!

Wow what seemingly like a common practice or action done by many parents are actually harmful to the child. Take note and be wary..

Cheers!

How true ..

Hi folks!

Do you find this statement kinda true to what you're experiencing sometimes. The uncomfortable feelings do not stays on for long though. As long as we keep an open heart and mind..thus people say step out of our comfort zone=making the change.

Be Still..Not Yet

Hi folks!

Lately, not sure if I am over excited of the impending change or simply I was too tired wih DH not feeling well and no expecting him to help with household chores...I am having sleepless nights...which I hardly do except during pregnant time. I would usually fall to zz...land the moment I hit he pillow so much as when I try to put the kids to bed..I actually slept before them ..lol..

Thus I been trying to make a hot drink, do deep bragging exercise, do some massage..nothing works thus turning to reading some inspirational article.

Here's one I just read...it's from a newsletter I subscribed since my college times...filled with lovely stories and poems that's heart-warming and thought-provoking..after so many years they are still updating the site..lovely..

Here you go:

Be Still

Sometimes I ask the question,
"My Lord, is this your will?"
It's then I hear you answer me,
"My Precious Child... be still."

Sometimes I feel frustrated,
Cause I think I know what's best.
It's then I hear you say to me,
"My Busy Child... just rest"

"I know the plans I have for you,
The wondrous things you'll see;
If you can just be patient, Child,
And put your trust in me.

I've plans to draw you closer.
I've plans to help you grow.
There's much I do you cannot see
And much you do not know.

But know this, Child ..... I LOVE YOU.
You are Precious unto Me.
Before I formed you in the womb,
I planned your destiny.

I've something very special
I hope for you to learn.
The gifts I wish to give to you
Are gifts you cannot earn.

They come without a price tag,
But not without a cost;
At Calvary, I gave Myself,
So You would not be lost.

Rest, Child, and do not weary
Of doing what is good.
I promise I'll come back for you
Just like I said I would.

Your name is written on my palm,
I never could forget;
Therefore, do not be discouraged when
My answer is... "Not Yet"

P.S: Please note that this site seems to be filled with lots of Christian stories, though I am not a

Christian per say, I love to relate it to my own belief..no offense to those who aren't receptive/not relating to the teaching.

In short, read/visit the site at your own will. Thanks :)

Countdown begins

Hi folks!

As I ponder on closing the current chapter to embark another journey in life, I thought it hard and long.

Then as bomb and sparks came along.... It made me defenseless with no more time to hesitate, push me to a corner to make the decision and grab the opportunity that presents itself.

When I finally decided to close the chapter, it's definitely not easy. There's a sense of relief yet also a sense of uncertainties, guilt, indecisiveness and mixed feelings...of joy and fear.

Then, now finally it's a reality..it's time to move on. It's time to cherish every last moment to spend the time well with colleagues and bosses, with the job I both loved & hated. Love when it made a difference, hated it when it becomes unappreciated, tedious, under-valued, overlooked and time-consuming.

When I left my then job, I left in a hurry. No time to bid farewell, etc. nevertheless the team is close & small. We've spent enough time together building a close rapport.

As for now, I would like to plan/choose how I like to End the chapter here.

I like to meet up for lunch with more different colleagues and people who have made a significant difference in my working life.

I like to chat more with those people I yet to have chance to.

Lastly I like to clear off the task the best I could so that my teammate who'll be back from her maternity break will not be overwhelmed with mountains of work and pressure.

30 more days to go. Just like "Tuesday with Morrie", I want to pen down my journey even before I leave this company.

Let the countdown begins ;)

Cheers!

Reflecting the past, Pondering on the future

Hi folks!

For the past few years(till now) it has been a constant speeding race for me...to the point when DH asked if I knew the car tyre is kinda insufficient/getting flat, KY asked if I saw her notebook in the car...etc...to which I have no answer to their questions for the moment I'm in the car, I am in a 30-50 minutes car race to work. Once I reached office, it's another mad dash to office and clock in. I do not have the time/mood to do anything else. What a danger!

As my working hour is 8am-5.30pm, there's insufficient inside building parking(only for managers and above level) and early staff(as early as 6.30am-7.15am)! Yep, people come as early as that in order to park inside the building compound and avoid taking the shuttle van which only service till 8.30am. Thus those who came later than 8.30am would have to walk 20minutes to work! I've walked few times myself till I have the thought of investing a bicycle so that I could cycle from the parking spot to office instead.

Reaching late plus the time taken to wait for shuttle(if you're lucky) or walk to office(+20 minutes) means you'll be reaching office around 9am++ which would means you can only go back after 6.30pm. And the traffic means it's another car race to pickup the kids on time....

Which babysitter likes you to put your baby before 7.30am and pickup after 7.30pm? 12 hours of long hard work!

Sigh...all these rushing are causing a havoc on my emotional and physical well-being. I was literally panting and find it hard to breath(and find it painful on my c-section wound area) each time I reach office and I am ever so ready to go to bed by 8.30pm. If DH is around to coach the elder kids in their homework, I would be lucky to get my short rest before waking up later to finish up my household chores. Then repeat Mon-Fri. What a life!

Thus, perhaps that is why my babysitter resigned from me...and wanted a break. Guilty, remorseful..for not heeding the signs of distress. Some women(myself) includes are prone to have high tolerance of "sufferings" until we couldn't take it any longer, and we burst...or suffer from burnt-out.

This is another lessons learnt for me. Never take things for granted. Any small signs from anyone, DH, the children, my elder parents and in-laws. Take cue from all these minor signals and communicate clearly and timely before things go/progress downwards.

Looking ahead, now that I've made the decision to make the change. I truly hope I am able to focus more on my family and my own well-being. I also hope to build up the skills needed to work from home. No more excuse! No more spending another mad, crazy 3years that leaves a blank chapter on my kids and me. I practically do not know where the times have gone and how I have neglected SE in particular! So much so he's having some minor learning difficulties now..another regret! But cheer up mommy, I am determine to make the change now..before it's too late.

May God bless our family the strength, wisdom and good health needed to make the change. May abundance of warmth, happiness and inspiring journey comes ahead us.

Thank you Lord!

Cheers!

What types of hairstyle suits a busy mom of 3?

Hi folks!

My hair is getting messy after cutting it last Dec/early Jan. Thinking to get an easy-to-maintain yet feminine short hairstyle(much to the disagreement of DH who preferred a long hairstyle for me).

For Eco & practical reason, I find it hard to keep.. Since I simply have no time to blow-dry a long hair and maintain it. What's more needing more shampoo+more shampoo-ING time..though I love those long curly hairstyle..oh well maybe after the kids all grown up..I might able to try it. As for now, no time for it.

What kind of hairstyle mommies you find easy to maintain and still look presentable?

Here are some I like to show my hairstylist ;)

Cheers!

Why does outside food seems tastier?

Hi folks!

I have a DH whom loves to eat out. Anytime I am tired and no time to cook/buy ingredient to cook, he would suggest eating out. During our dating time, we would visit different vegetarian eateries at every corner of Klang Valley. He won't mind traveling close to 40minutes to Klang just to have his favorite Roti John.

For me, though I am used to and fond of eating at home, I also join him/influence by his foodie adventures. Indifferent perspective, I love to savor, try different food and see how it is prepared that is so yummy and looks yummy too. Presentation as well as the seasoning/gravies plays a major role. Then I would pickup from there and try to replicate one at home lolx. That's the plus point of eating out for me ;) my culinary adventures and improvement.

With the cost arising, do you still eat out as often? When I did our yearly budgeting review, I found out that the amount we spent per meal is equal to the weekly marketing expenses for our household. Thus I told DH if possible we just eat out during weekend/special occasion. Yea, weekend kitchen closed when mommy prepare ingredient for weekday cooking! ;)
Plus, more time to savor the food when we aren't in a rush ;)

What about you? When do you eat out?

Cheers!

Home-cooked meals

Hi folks!

I remembered when I was pregnant with KY, i craved for my mom's cooking. My mom was staying down south then, not possible to eat her cooking unless we make the 4 hours trip home.

Now both my parents have moved nearer to us, occasionally she will cook up a feast like in the picture(birthday celebration of my sister!). Yummy..simple meal with lots of love.

Wonder with modern busy hectic lifestyle, what will the next generation recall of their favorite meals? Will it be the fast food instead? MCD, KFC..etc?

Although it's no easy feat for us working moms to still prepare dinner after working whole day long, it builds up memories for the children not to mention it's healthier, more time-saving & economical to eat at home. More time-saving for us is due to each trip we might end up taking turns to eat in a rush with baby on tow. Thus doubled the time. Thus it takes up precious time for the kids to shower, do homework, etc as by the time we reached home after meal will be close to 9pm.

Another good point of cooking at home is mommy gets to always think and experiment with new recipes. The other day while pumping, we chat on our tips how to quickly get the dinner ready after we reached home :)

Do you have any tips to share? Any sure-win recipes with the children?

Love to hear from you all!

Cheers!

Pong Piak

Hi folks!

When it rains, it pours....

Had a bloody morning today when in a rush & blur(having running nose & unable to sleep well), I actually knocked myself onto the wall("pong piak")..., sigh..,

Just seen the doctor after the bleeding stopped and came back again..Thank God no stitching required as the cut has been sealing...

What a day... Maybe this small mishaps helps to trade off with major ones.. Stay grateful and gotta take some rest now before I turned zombie state once more and ahem stay away from the wall while on cold medicine..

Phew....

What can a mom do in 10 minutes?

Hi folks!

Every minute is precious especially for busy moms(and dad!). Let's see how many of you nodded in agreement for the following task we could do in 10 minutes:
1. Shower (yup, a quick shower with crying baby or waiting hubby in the background)
2. Brush teeth, wash face
3. Dab on some toner, moisturizer and sunscreen(&makeup if you're really superb fast and not fussy)
4. Power Nap (yep, see the picture how a 10 minutes can do to us!)

Life is how we make it to be

Hi folks!

Many times, we faced situation condition that we have to make choices. I always have the belief that if I unhappy/feel unsync about something in my life, I have a choice the tale the chance to make a change or merely complain about it.

The latter would only waste our precious life away as the situation would kept on repeating itself. The former requires courage, preparation(at least mentally ready to take the first step and grab the chance that comes by) and action to face the unknown. It won't be all rosy(or might be even worse than here) at the other fence/choice we made but at least we've tried to make the change and we tried to give our life a chance to change...rather than continuing to lament on the current. If it isn't any better, at least it taught us to treasure hardship and difficulties in life, and thus complain less. If it worked out, give yourself a pat for taking the leap. It'll give you the courage to take the next leap higher in life!

Food for thought a the junction of my life sharing it with my dear friends and myself :)

Cheers!
