What KY been asking lately

Hi folks!

Today, over the radio (these days I often listened to radio during my "long" journey to work due to jam) as I hardly has time to read the newspaper or watch the news on tv. Thus, making the best of my time stuck-in-the-jam by catching up on latest news and traffic condition from the radio station.

This morning, the deejays were discussing about "Why do people get married?"
Is it for formalization?
Is it for commitment?
Is it for security?
Is it for the parents?
Is it for love?

It reminds me of the question asked by KY last weekend:
KY: Mom, who do I get married with next time?
Mom: [Stop for few seconds] before answering, you'll marry someone who loves you, can take good care of you and someone you loved. You see daddy loves mommy or not? Does daddy takes good care of mommy? (purposely say it in front of daddy..lolx)
KY: Yes!
Mom: Yea, so you'll married someone like that in future.
KY: But how and where do I meet someone like that.
Mom: When you grow up, you'll meet up someone like that.

So, why do people get marry these days? Is it just for black and white paper legalization?

Some people opt the shortcut and easy way by cohabiting without going through the legal process.

Whereas in certain countries, people trying very hard to get the paper signed (as in same sex relationship if you know what I mean).

For me, I recalled clearly what an older friend once told me about the sacred thing about marriage.

As for Chinese, we would have not only the paper signing, but the most important is the prayer to Heaven & Earth and then the tea ceremony to our parents and senior relatives. It signifies the vow we made to be husband & wife in from of God and witnessed by our elders/seniors.

Thus people say, marriage is not about two people, but two families, may i add here then it also involves Heaven & Earth. Thus, marriage is a sacred union ;)

I do hope KY would read this in future as she found herself someone worthy of her love :)

Cheers!

What if FEAR is not in the picture?

Hi folks!

Today on the radio station the deejays are discussing what if FEAR is not in the picture, what would people do?

Some of them said they will try bungee jumping, another said would tell mother-in-law that she liked to shift out and live on their own, etc.

I was thinking, if fear is not in the picture for me, i would:
  1. Migrate to Australia for a less hectic lifestyle and a better environment & education for the children (if FEAR of not getting an income is removed).
  2. Start my own Work-from-Home business, so that I have income and have more time with my children. (if FEAR of the biz not working out, or financial woes is removed)
  3. Homeschool the children, let them learn what they have interest in at their own pace. (if FEAR of not being able to be a good coach and jeapardise the kids' future is removed)
These are the top main thing i would do, how about you?

Let's give it a thought and list out what we would love to do when FEAR is not in the picture ;)

I believe such exercise will make us understand what are the things we truly hope to do yet do not have the courage to go ahead!

Cheers!
