On the eve of Chinese New Year

Hi folks!

Today is the eve of Chinese New Year. There are still people who are working on this day. DH is one of them.

What I always looking forward on this day is the reunion dinner.

After most of my siblings got married, we will usually have our reunion earlier before the actual eve of CNY as those who got married usually need to balik kampung back to their in-laws' place.

I am lucky that my in-law are KL folks, thus I don't have to take long leave for balik kampung trip.

I will be starting work on Wednesday...pending if i would take leave on the day to spend more time with my family.

How about you? What customs, traditions do you look forward to on this day?

It's also a day we do our last spring-cleaning of our house and, our mind. Clear the old, bring in the new, Discard the bads and welcome the good ones as they said..

So today DH will help to finished off whatever pending cleaning work before we welcome the New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year to all!

Cheers!

License to eat

Hi folks!

After checkup yesterday, I finally can sigh in relief..and regained my license to eat... :P

This pregnancy the symptom a bit like the second one..I tend to like sweet stuff...like desserts, chocolates, muffins...but I tried not to take too much as I worried of the yucky glucose intolerance test...

After nurse told me I should gained more weight and more blood(Hb reading went up from 9.5 to 10.8) still not at a favourable level...hehe.. can I say I have gotten my LICENSE to eat..this CNY! Haha..yippee!

Though I should also still watch my diet as age catching up...not sure if I am able to regain my pre-pregnancy weight later..haha..Moderation is the key while still indulge once in a while in dark chocolate and yummy desserts..

How often do we get the license to eat as we wished right :)

After the bouts of vomiting period (first trimester), eating(without worrying of vomiting) has been such a luxury to me. Even drinking big gulps of water at one go seems such a refreshing task now. As during the heavy vomiting every small little sip might bring out gosh of water later..eiks..ok let's not talk about this now..

Back to this pregnancy again...many asked me what is the gender, especially kind-hearted friends who has things to giveaway to me..knowing that I have GIVEN AWAY all my bb stuff last time as I thought we have finally call it a day a.k.a. close shop. But God has a better plan for us it seems..

Thus, this time I had to scout around for things from others who have "closed shop" before starting my baby items hunting/buying spree...It's been 4 years plus now..really feel like outdated from the baby buying scene :P It's been such a long time since I last check out baby stuff unless I need to get some baby shower/full moon gift!

This time round, I purposely asked the gynae of the gender simply to make it easier for my baby items hunting from others...so it's been confirmed by the gynae ..it's BLUE! The gynae seems so sure..so safe to say..Friends...if you have any baby items(still in good condition) which you like to give away...pls. do give me a buzz! THANKS a millionsss!

Cheers!

Checkup Week 24

Hi folks!

Phew...just came back from a checkup at government clinic...it's been 4 years since I last visited one...can see some improvement but I was bit tad lost at the new procedures, lining up rooms, etc....thus still take me a bit of time to complete the whole checkup...hopefully the next visit will be smoother...

Overall, the hemoglobin level increased but still need to boost up further...I have been taking Organic Prune Paste and Wheatgrass powder as well as daily dose of cranberries..all the heart-boosting food :) for the past few weeks..glad it went up to a satisfactory level.

Due to past experience with glucose intolerance test, I have been extra careful not to take too much sugary or sweet food...and even reduce my rice intake for dinner. Been switching to whole grain or wholemeal and brown rice. Skipping all the whites...white rice, white sugar, white bread...so far it's been good...i have yet to asked to take the test...weight gain is within "safe" level only 1.9kg...i was told to increased to 2kg per month...the last pregnancy the weight gained a month is 3.1kg and been asked to take the glucose intolerance test...yucky drinks with big spoonful of sugar in water...

Ok..here's my update for the day..time to catch up some pending tasks...

Have a lovely day folks...counting to CNY break yippee!

Cheers!

Discovery of a busy mom

Hi folks!

Sometimes, the following are what we need to stay sane, stay loving and stay calm amidst the busy-ness of everyday rush hour:

1.       A short cat nap even if it's a mere 10 minutes

2.       An interrupted shower, again even if it's only 10 minutes

3.       A hot cup of tea and a bit of indulgence such as chocolate chip cookies or muffin

4.       A flip of women magazines full of bright colors and ideas

5.       A flip of yummy ideas from recipes books when we run out of ideas on what to cook

6.       A phone call or sms to a buddies whom we think are equally busy and worn-out as us (thinking of others makes us forget about our own woes, which is quite true!)

7.       A deep breath count to ten. More oxygen goes to our brain will certainly help to keep us sane and focus.

8.       A view of greenery. A great therapy, as good as 20 minute nap.

9.       A good sweat from a good workout or run in the park.

10.   A helping hand when we felt fully stretched and needed some recharge.

What are your discoveries? Do share and when you shared, you helped to reinforce this activity in your mind and start to have it more or even scheduled in your daily itinerary!

Cheers to a great day!
